My work is characterized by the ability to see beauty in the everyday. I embrace imperfection in my photography and reveal charm in the often overlooked or unexpected. I’m interested in the tension between objects or ideas, often exploring these by creating my own sets and props. Not infrequently, I take nature out of its context in order to subsequently examine their anatomy in great detail. By taking the (living) forms out of their context and zooming in on them, I hope to penetrate to the deepest core. The result is an often humorous or unusual image that hopefully joys the viewer.
